"Drop everything, Venkman. We got one."
The first trailer for Paul Feig's all-female Ghostbusters reboot just dropped, and it looks damn good.
"30 years ago…," it begins, paying homage to the 1984 original. But Feig revamps the hearse and takes full advantage of CGI tricks for the phosphorescent skeletor vomiting goo.
Meet the new foursome: Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig and Leslie Jones.
Traditionalists will wail, but as Feig put it—it's not like he's time-traveling back to your childhood, making you an orphan and ruining your life.
For deep-cut fanatics, Feig tweeted how a proton pack really works and revealed how they strung up Other Space actress Bess Rous in an LED light suit.
For the haters, whom he called "the most vile, misogynistic shits I've ever seen in my life," there is an internet hole of nostalgia for you to fall down. Meanwhile, the rest of us will look forward to the July 15 release date.
Don't be a jerk, just enjoy.
