Breaking: The World's Greatest Cat Painting Will Nestle Up to Portland a Little Longer

PAM extended the display of "My Wife's Lovers." Celebrate with a free concert tomorrow.

You still have time to feast your eyes on "the world's greatest cat painting." PAM just announced that My Wife's Lovers, scheduled for removal this Sunday, will stay in Portland through June 8.

That's three and a half more weeks of Lovers. To celebrate, the museum is hosting a special Saturday pop-up tomorrow, with the musical comedy duo The Doubleclicks.

This masterpiece was PAM's most hotly anticipated arrival this year, leaving fans in suspense when winter storms delayed its arrival from Sotheby's in January.

When the 8.4-foot-wide, 42 cat masterpiece did arrive, it did not go unnoticed in Portland, which was recently named the fourth most cat-friendly city in America by The Catalyst Council. Portlanders enjoyed the Museum's selfie booth and a concert by the cat rapper MoShow in March.

From the Museum: "The seventh oldest museum in the United States, the Portland Art Museum is internationally recognized for its permanent collection and ambitious special exhibitions… of arts of the native peoples of North America, English silver, and the graphic arts." And cats.

GO: Portland Art Museum, 1219 SW Park Ave. 2 pm Saturday, May 14. Free.
