Missing Al Gore's Activism? Ferguson Is the Answer.

Jane Goodall and an Oscar-winning director revamp climate activism in "Time to Choose."

Climate change activism is persuasive again in this availing take by Oscar-winning Documentarian Charles Ferguson. Here, Oscar Isaac narrates a sobering sequence of interviews and scenes of environmental devastation. Divided into three categories—coal and electricity, oil and gas, land and food—the film's talking heads include Jane Goodall, Nobel winner Steven Chu (also the former US Secretary of Energy) and Rocky Mountain Institute co-founder Amory Lovins. Positing "smart technologies" as the existing and cost-efficient solution, Time to Choose drives the message home. Should the population rest on its laurels (i.e., unsustainable energy technologies), runaway climate change is the global catastrophe we doom our children to. JENNIFER LEE.
