Dr. Who's David Tennant Will Be Filming in Portland This Year

He's starring in Dean "Leverage" Devlin's upcoming film "Bad Samaritan"

David Tennant, best known as the whimsical Tenth Doctor on BBC time-traveling-alien-with-two-hearts show Doctor Who, is coming to the Portland metro area later this year, according to Deadline.

Commence with variations on "Allons-y!" and "I am sorry. I am so… sorry."

Tennant will be starring in director Dean Devlin's upcoming film project with the working title "Bad Samaritan," about two car valets who use their business as a front for burglarizing their customers' homes. The film was written by Brandon Boyce, who also wrote 1998's "Apt Pupil" and 2004's "Wicker Park".

More recently, Tennant has starred as vicious sexual predator Dr. Zebediah Kilgrave opposite Krysten Ritter in Netflix's superhero series Jessica Jones, and a dying crotchety detective on British crime series Broadchurch.

Dean Devlin's production company, Electric Entertainment, is behind two of Portland's best known local TV series—Portland-filmed TNT series Leverage and The Librarians, the latter of which begins its third season November 20.

Portland Whovians are sure to be excited about one of the most beloved actors to play Doctor Who coming to town. Celebrate with them on September 9 at the First Annual Meeting of Time Travelers at North Killingsworth's Tardis Room, which will somewhat perplexingly feature a Delorean parked out front.
