Columbia River Brewing was established in only 2010, but the brewery feels as if it's taken out of a 1998 ABC Family movie, to a time before menus listed sea salt as an ingredient. An older couple sits beneath a vintage kayak bolted to the wall while quietly piecing together a jigsaw puzzle of two Dachshunds. A quaint chalkboard listed bangers and mash as a dinner special, a hangover from head brewer Rick Burkhardt's trip to England 30 years ago, which inspired him to start brewing. Burkhardt's IPAs are watery and could use more hops. He's been doing this for a while, so stick to the classics, especially the Stumbler's Stout and CRB Pale Ale.

Drink This: Stumbler's Stout. Even 30 years later, Burkhardt's English influence comes through in an oatmeal stout actually as filling as a bowl

of oatmeal.
