[September 6th, 2006] The windows are still papered at Trust , the soon-to-be-opened lounge on the ground floor of a Pearl District condo box at Northwest 9th Avenue and Everett Street. But a scan of the bar's half-finished website (trustalounge.com ) yields offerings including New York steak, a "Trust Me" martini and "warm cookies and milk with an alternative root beer float." The site also reminds diners that "without TRUST there is no love...without love there is no life...." Christ almighty, we need a drink already. Chef Sean Concannon is handing out booze and snacks—fo' free . To pimp his new Northwest eatery, Westcafe (1201 SW Jefferson St., 227-8189), the former ArtBar chef is hosting a grand opening shindig at 5 pm Thursday, Sept. 7. It's open to the public —so anybody can wash down free vittles with free wine and cocktails. Sadly, after its housewarming party, Westcafe will be charging money for its food and drinks. After we dished about former Criollo baker Patty Stearns making shoppers drool at the Sellwood New Seasons, we got word of another Criollo-Seasons affair. The man behind the defunct bakery's tasty croissants, David Stone , will help Beaverton expand its waistline when he joins the artisan bread crew at New Seasons' brand new Cedar Hills Crossing location, which opens Wednesday, Sept. 13. OK, any other Criollites-turned-Seasoners out there?
