[June 13th, 2007] Sweet news from chocolate czar Moonstruck (moonstruckchocolate.com): The Portland-based company has signed on to open eight more chocolate cafes across the nation , pimping truffles and other cocoa concoctions in Boston, New York City, Washington, D.C., and other cities, in addition to its locations in Oregon, California and Illinois. For those who're counting, that's 17 cafes total. >> Antiquated Sellwood Italian eatery Portofino (8075 SE 13th Ave., 234-8259) just got a pair of new owners, husband-and-wife duo Seth Matasar and Chantal Angot . No worries: Although the Italian bistro is gaining a new chef—Scott Bessner, who'll focus on (what else?) fresh, local ingredients—it's not losing its family identity. Angot's dad, Georges, was actually Portofino's owner and chef in the late '90s. >> Got your own tabletop news? Email dish@wweek.com.
