Fashion and rock ’n’ roll have always gone together, but in a city like Portland, where every hipster dude in a band rocks the same hoodie, things often get lost in the fleece. Back for its fifth year, Doom Town is an annual show that combines the best of Portland’s rock and thread worlds. We asked fashion-show director and Disorder Clothing designer Elizabeth Mollo , show producer Erin Cry and their intern/model Kori Emmerich for a pro take on some clothing dos and don’ts.

WEDNESDAY FEB. 27

[MUSIC] CLASSICAL REVOLUTION PDX

Proving that classical music is still fun, still relevant and—in this case—free. Someday Lounge, 125 NW 5th Ave., 248-1030. 9 pm Wednesday, Feb. 27. Free.

THURSDAY FEB. 28

[SCREEN] TOM DICILLO

The maverick director of Living in Oblivion and Delirious answers questions about why truly independent filmmaking often ends in...well, not oblivion, but often obscurity. Living Room Theaters, 341 SW 10th Ave., 222-2010. 7 pm. $20. See article.

FRIDAY FEB. 29

[SCREEN] THE BAND’S VISIT

Director Eran Kolirin’s PIFF opener gets a full run, so that everyone can see the Middle Eastern shenanigans that N.P. Thompson says include “the dramatic high point of any movie this year.” Regal Fox Tower Stadium 10, 846 SW Park Ave., 221-3280. $7-$10. See The Band’s Visit movietimes page.

SATURDAY MARCH 1

[gay] MOVIE MADNESS

The Portland Gay Men’s Chorus dons top hats to relive cinematic musical moments from films as diverse as Bless the Beasts and the Children, Footloose and…Brokeback Mountain. Newmark Theatre, 1111 SW Broadway, 248-4335. 8 pm Saturday, March 1. $20-$30.

SUNDAY MARCH 2

[MUSIC] COLIN MELOY

After gosh knows how many Decemberists bills at the Crystal, this solo performance from frontman Meloy ought to be a refreshing change of pace. Jackpot Records-Hawthorne, 3736 SE Hawthorne Blvd., 239-7561. 2 pm. Free. All ages.

MONDAY MARCH 3

[MUSIC] THE GUTTER TWINS

Afghan Whigs fans will probably wish the Gutter Twins’ tunes were a bit more Greg Dulli, where Screaming Trees/gothic-blues fans will yearn for more of the duo’s other half, Mark Lanegan. Wonder Ballroom, 128 NE Russell St., 284-8686. 8 pm. $15. 21+.

TUESDAY MARCH 4

[MUSIC] TILLY AND THE WALL, CAPGUN COUP, A WEATHER

GO: Doom Town takes place at the Fez Ballroom, 316 SW 11th Ave., 221-7262. 7:30 pm Friday, Feb. 29. $10. 21+.
