AND YOUR POINT IS....?
Dear Mr. Mesh: Thank you for writing this article [“New Kids In the Flock,” WW. June 18, 2008]. But I was confused about what the prices of T-shirts and books or the market value of their house had to do with anything. Especially since all the numbers were so modest. $496K for six wooded acres near Gresham, OR is dirt cheap! It came across like you were trying to prove a set of preconceived ideas. Not exactly the most objective approach. I guess I’m just going to have to read their book.
Thanks for your time and energy.

CORRECTIONS:
Last week’s cover story, “New Kids in the Flock,” erred in describing the book that Alex and Brett Harris handed to converts during an altar call, and in describing what the Harrises shot into the crowd. The book distributed at the altar call was John White’s The Fight. What the Harris brothers shot into the crowd were foam arrows, which could be redeemed for a free book. WW regrets the errors.

Boun Saribout was incorrectly identified last week in “Hire Ground” as an immigrant. Saribout was born in the United States and is Laotian-American. WW regrets the error.
CLARIFICATION:The Score’s report last week that U.S. Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) opposed “expanded federal gay-partnership rights” referred to Smith’s opposition to federal gay marriage. He supports other gay-partnership rights.
