A serial bank robber hit the Bank of the West on Northeast Halsey Street the afternoon of June 12. It was the fifth robbery for the man, whom the FBI is calling the “Benjamins Bandit” because he demands only $100 bills.

Oregon Zoo staff have located a home for a puma cub found last month near Klamath Falls. After a temporary stay at the Oregon Zoo, the cub will move to the Northeastern Wisconsin Zoo.

Bad Call
Portland police arrested one of their own June 12 on charges he harassed three female coworkers and a 16-year-old girl by phone. Joseph Wild, a four-year police veteran, pleaded not guilty to multiple counts of misconduct and telephone harassment.

To Grandma’s House We Go
A Gresham woman was arrested June 11 for manufacturing and distributing meth within 1,000 feet of a school. The suspect lived in a trailer in her grandmother’s yard, not far from Clear Creek Middle School.

TriMet installed three modern sculptures at the future Lents Town Center MAX station on June 10. Lit from the inside, the giant metal flowers use solar panels and wind turbines to power the lights.
