International Pop Overthrow: Nice Boys, The Soda Pop Kids, Throwback Suburbia, The Knast, The Village Green, UHF, The Orchid Highway, The Foxgloves

[BUBBLEGUM PUNK] Though few current acts would admit an affinity for the bubblegum pop of the late ’60s, local punkers the Soda Pop Kids don’t just love chewing some—they completely revel in it. The Kids' 2007 album, Teen Bop Dream, is like the Ramones after drinking a beer and eating two reams of cotton candy, full of sugar-rush melodies and la-de-da’s and awesomely bad haircuts. No pretensions or notions of hipness here, just easygoing and über-catchy rock ’n’ roll that harks back to better times. MICHAEL MANNHEIMER. East End 8 pm. Cover. 21+. See Wednesday listing for more info.
