This will be Willamette Week’s sixth Give!Guide, our annual fund-raising effort for area nonprofits in November and December. Created in 2004 to hook readers 35 and younger on the giving habit, this goal remains the primary focus. But the Give!Guide has grown sufficiently since its founding — from $24,000 collected in 2004 to around $810,000 last fall — that it now has the added goal of trying to raise as much money as possible for as many worthy local non-profits as we can support.

We’re looking for organizations in the following categories: Animals, Arts, Community, Education, Environment, Social Action, Wellness, and Youth. We’ll be accepting applications until midnight on July 31. G!G’s executive director will get back to all applicants by Sept. 15, 2009.
