Uncommon Scents
Comme des Garçons Eau de Parfum fragrance ($120, Coreen Salome & Apothecary 23, 808 NW 23rd Ave., 827-8693) is a fine gift for anyone who appreciates a rare, exquisite scent (and doesn't want to smell like everyone else). As in years past, production of the perfume is limited to 2,500 units worldwide. The scent comes in its usual bottle, encased in sheer fiber and hundreds of tiny gold stars and wrapped in a brilliant purple box with printed silver lettering. Reserve ahead--you snooze, you lose.

Cheaper Than a Trip to India
Massages may be easy to come by, but massages based on the ancient, holistic Indian system of Ayurveda are not--at least not on this continent. That's part of the appeal of the Himalayan Rejuvenation Spa Treatment ($150, Dosha Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa, 2281 NW Glisan St., 228-8280) at the chi-chi new Northwest Aveda spa. Warm oil drips on the third eye (middle of the forehead) throughout this luxurious, two-and-a-half-hour full body massage.

About Face
Nothing beats a facial from a pro for winter skin rejuvenation. The lucky recipient of a gift certificate for a facial at Joie de Vie (various denominations, Joie de Vie, 715 SW Morrison St., Suite 905, 224-8636) can choose from European facials, lymphobiology, glycolic facials, triple fruit acid and enzyme peels and other treatments offered by veteran aesthetician Joy-Marie Peterson, who has 24 years of experience in skin care and cosmetics. Gift certificates can also be used for skin-care and cosmetic products.

Tres Naturelle
Every woman deserves nice French beauty products, and for those who don't like to get too "perfumey," this L'Occitane en Provence aromatherapy set ($41.50, L'Occitane en Provence, Pioneer Place, 340 SW Morrison St., 223-5785) fills the bill. The set includes shower gel, body lotion and solid fragrance balm in four varieties, including relaxing, restorative, revitalizing and calming. The products are essential-oil-based and contain no synthetic fragrances (the bottle flip-tops are made from recycled plastic, too).

Slicker Than a Tackle Box
Is there someone cosmetic-obsessed on your list who's still in denial that she needs a giant box to carry all her lipsticks, eyeliners, powders and potions? If so, help said loved one ditch the wimpy purse and opt instead for a TZ case ($36-$209, Ziva Salon & Store, 610 NW 23rd Ave., 221-6990). The sleek and durable aluminum cases have clever details like detachable mirrors, multiple shelves, removable Velcro pouches and elastic bands to hold bottled products upright.

Instant Makeup Artist
Anyone who knows anything about cosmetics adores MAC products (including plenty of makeup artists the world over). The MAC exclusive for Nordstrom color palette ($38.50, Nordstrom, 701 SW Broadway, 224-6666, and various locations) is a mini makeup kit including two Lipglasses, two lipsticks, four shades of eye shadow and MAC's Eyeshading brush--all housed in a black nylon case to go. See you at the
collections.
