Thor, Edgar Allen Posers

[HUNK OF METAL] Jon Mikl Thor is one of the most insane human beings I have ever seen in a lifetime of gaping at insane human beings. The man was a legend before he ever struck a note. Prior to getting into music, Thor was a successful bodybuilder—the first Canadian to win both the Mr. Canada and Mr. USA contests. Then came the band. Thor never made it huge. They were mid-issue Kerrang! heavy metal. But the key to their limited success was Thor's own wild presence onstage. I've personally seen the man bend a steel bar with his teeth. He can explode a whoopee cushion with his breath. And, God willing, he will do just that (or something similar) in tonight's live show following a screening of the new documentary about his life and comeback. Read our Q&A with Thor here. BRACE BELDEN. Dante's, 350 W Burnside St. 9 pm. $10. 21+.

Anat Cohen Quartet

[QUIRKY CLARINET] Israeli-born jazz clarinetist Anat Cohen plays the giddiest version of Flying Lotus' "Putty Boy Strut" that you have ever heard. A worldwide musical adventurer from a very gifted family—her bearded brother Avishai plays trumpet in the SF Jazz Collective—Cohen is among the most talented professionals on her instrument today. And while it may seem odd that she chose to transform FlyLo's heavy-hitting hip-hop banger into a happy klezmer tune on her latest record, Luminosa, that's precisely the reason to see her: You never quite know what she might jazzify. PARKER HALL. Jimmy Mak's, 221 NW 10th Ave. 9:30 pm. $18 general admission, $22 reserved seating. 21+.

Tiburones, Death Songs, Clarke and the Himselfs

[INDIE FOLK] Read our review of Tiburones' Eva here. Mississippi Studios, 3939 N Mississippi Ave. 9 pm. $10. 21+.

Ice Queens, Couches, Coma Serfs

[HEAVY'N'BENT] Read our profile of Ice Queens here. The Liquor Store, 3341 SE Belmont St. 9 pm. $5. 21+.
