Pocket Shop 2009

OK, I know what you're thinking: A shopping guide? Now? Is it really a good time to encourage people to spend money? Hell yes it is. Sure, with new layoffs announced every day, the temptation to hole up in our apartments and make all our purchases through Amazon is strong; but if you stop patronizing local businesses to save a buck here and there, they'll go under, and you'll feel like a schmuck. Plus, waiting three to five days for your new socks to show up is a real drag. So shop local—we've done half the work for you. Whether it's a pair of boots, a leather corset, a taxidermied alligator head or a new typewriter ribbon, we've found a shop that carries what you need.
