I would like to see a story as a follow up regarding the 3 million dollar street improvement project in Old Town China Town that is now one year old. Start looking around at NW Burnside & 3rd Avenue and then walking North on Third to the Chinese Garden. This is the area that had its cherry trees cut down and replaced with palms and some other crappy trees. Look at the objectionable ugly sculpture that was vandalized and kind of fixed to look like the one across the street. Look at all the landscaping that has been neglected to the point of collecting weeds, or just having trees cut down and becoming dirt holes. Look at the Chinese marble sidewalk pavers being stolen and broken. Look at the sidewalks in front of the bars and clubs etched with chewing gum stains and cigarette butts littered about. Compare the new sidewalks to the old ones and see if you can tell the difference. Then tell us if you think the 3 million was worth it or not.
