Ladd’s Addition.
A 2.6-magnitude earthquake shook Ladd’s Addition on May 11, prompting doomsday speculation that Mount Tabor is threatening to send rivers of lava oozing down our streets. Does anyone have Tommy Lee Jones’ phone number?

“Eat me!” says recently kicked-to-the-curb Shins drummer Jesse Sandoval. Or, at least, eat his taco and then get an autograph. Sandoval’s new taco cart, Nuevo Mexico, will start serving curbside grub later this week at Southwest 3rd Avenue and Stark Street.

Unholy hordes descended upon the Hollywood Theatre last weekend for Zompire, the “Undead Film Festival.” Fun fact: A “zompire” is what you get when a vampire and a zombie mate to produce an undead offspring.

The Portland Opera Studio Artists took Tom Waits into the opera May 17 at the Mission Theater. POSA performed a mashup of Waits’ songs sans scratchy growls. Now I’ve seen it all, Tom, I’ve seen it all through the yellow windows of the evening train…
