Hi, C'est moi (the true blue one). I need to come clean about something. It's tearing me up inside.

After the weird million comments and still counting, phenomenon, with the Matthew Hanly stories, (more than a few which were directed at mine), I got curious about the source of so many that appeared without content and along the same vague "anti" theme, without backup. Like was it just co-incidence the voice of many read alike, yet with a never ending array of different monikers?

So I attempted the dirty trick of posting comments,

each one with a different moniker just to see if it my theory about the possibility of fewer posters than it would appear, could get in and make a scene, while making it seem there was a mob behind it. Every single one of my posts made it onto the page. Soon after to be taken down. My plan was foiled too quickly.

I was having a blast! Using a choice of monikers was exhilarating and liberating. Like with each name change, the post took on a different character, and it was like play acting. I really wish two of the monikers hadn't been wiped clean. I could have had so much more fun, my imagination was soaring with future possibilities, but your guys are swift in there, and my joy ride didn't last long.

My question is, since it would appear that it could be fairly quickly determined that I was being a moniker hog from a single IP address, does WW have the tools in place for leveling the playing field here, so that what may have happened on Matthew Hanly's story and possibly earlier in the year on the Sam Adam's stories--with an army of posters possibly coming from fewer than would have appeared--doesn't happen again?

It's a misleading and powerful tool, in this media medium, with a powerful potential for discouraging new bloggers who might be intimidated by the fury

represented in numbers that are a false representation.

That and hijacking monikers are serious issues. Trolls are bad enough, but if their numbers can be reduced, in the same ways that my multiple use of monikers were erased, it has the potential to minimize their damage to argument.

Annie,

If I understand you correctly, you are asking if we can determine if the same person is writing us from two different IP addresses The answer is that we cannot.

I am new to the area and have noticed that there is a LOT of badmouthing about people on here. Even from 10plus years ago. Do you keep the adds on here forever? It makes it really difficult for people to change their lives if everything people pull up on them are the VERY BAD articles written about them on WW. Is there any remorce? Is there anyway for people to get a second chance and get the article removed or does it have to go to the law? Just curious. I believe people change and deserve second chances. Do you????
