Skeleton arms reaching out of a grave, fondling a terrified, half-naked woman; a ghostly geisha girl having sex with a freaked-out teenage boy; an innocent baby being spirited away by a vampire with blood dripping from her mouth and guts spilling out of her rib cage.... Sounds like a teaser for next week's episode of True Blood, right? Wrong! It's the winningly, grinningly gruesome imagery you'll find in INKWADS, the ink-drawing show currently at East Burnside gallery Grass Hut. Artists Hellen Jo, Brent Wick, Kiyoshi Nakazawa, John Black and Tom Neely show what they can do with wads of ink and a knack for comics-inspired phantasma-gore-ias. Charmingly lowbrow, these whacked-out drawings are guaranteed to make your skin crawl. Personally, we wanna buy one and hang it in the kitchen.
