Juneau Street residents awoke Sept. 30 to find a row of cars on their block keyed. Neighbors believe teenagers caused the damage, and Portland police urge people to call with any leads.

N Interstate Ave. & North Mason St., Portland OR
A MAX train hit and injured a man Oct. 1 after the victim allegedly tried to jump over the guardrail and cross the tracks before the train passed. A security guard claims he saw the man “cartwheeling along the side” of the train before the collision. Police say alcohol could have played a role in the incident.
Downtown
1900 SW Morrison, Portland OR
James Strode, accused of robbing three convenience stores in North and Northeast—and a fourth in Aloha (see below)—on Oct. 1, was found dead in his Southwest Morrison Street apartment Oct. 2. Medical examiners found no injuries on the body; a toxicology report is pending.

805 SW Broadway., Portland OR
Deliveryman Anthony Beaird says he was trapped Sept. 30 in a Fox Tower service elevator, which then dropped him eight floors in a freefall. Tower officials wouldn’t comment on Beaird’s account.
Aloha
6055 S.W. 185th Ave., Aloha OR
Officials locked down two schools Oct. 1 after a knife-wielding man robbed a nearby Albertsons. Police now suspect the man was Strode (see Downtown, above), who rode a TriMet bus after the robbery to a stop near Aloha High and Kinnaman Elementary.
Clackamas County
12000 SE 82nd Ave., Portland OR
Joseph Arthur Allick was arrested Oct. 2 for public indecency when security officers say they caught him masturbating in the Clackamas Town Center parking lot. Authorities say Allick allegedly drove around the parking lot in front of Nordstrom “17 times,” trying to attract women to his 1989 Ford Bronco by waving to them and knocking on his window.
