Out Of Our Heads

When the guy who wrote the best graphic novel of 2009 (David Mazzucchelli, author of Asterios Polyp) calls you "the future of comics," you're doing something really right. And in fact, Dash Shaw does everything right in Bodyworld, an ultra-stylish, suburban sci-fi epic that follows botanist/experimental-drug addict Paulie Panther on both a physical and psychedelic trip through a town called Boney Borough in the year 2060. Bodyworld is Blade Runner meets The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, and it's addictive.
