June 25-27: North American Organic Brewers Festival

More than 50 organic beers from around the country will be poured at this eco-friendly brewfest, which will fill Overlook Park with a weekend of drinking and live music. Overlook Park, North Fremont Street and Interstate Avenue, naobf.org. Noon-9 pm Friday-Saturday, noon-5 pm Sunday. Free entry. Tasting cup is $6, samples are $1 each, discounts with MAX ticket, bike corral ticket or three cans of food. All ages.

July 9-15: 4th Annual PuckerFest

Belmont Station pulls in a wide array of sour beers from around the world for a week of intense tasting. 4500 SE Stark St., 232-8538, belmont-station.com. 21+.

July 10: Bastille Day Festival

You say you want a revolution, well you know—you might as well flash forward to the celebration of said revolution, as it will include a wine garden, Francophilic market and food court in Jamison Square. If not as historically relevant, it's at least safer (and tastier) than the 1789 storming of the Bastille Prison. The waiters' race returns with waiters from local restaurants feverishly speed-walking three laps (a mile total!) around the park. The fastest waiter with the fullest drink wins! July 16-18: Portland International Beerfest

Stumble around the world with more than 150 beers from more than 15 countries at this three-day bender. July 22-25: Oregon Brewers Festival

One of the nation's largest and longest-running beer festivals, Portland's 23rd annual weekend-long celebration of craft brewing will fill Waterfront Park with tens of thousands of drinkers this summer, all hoping to get a taste of the more than 80 craft beers on offer. A root-beer garden will serve free handcrafted soda for children and designated drivers. Tom McCall Waterfront Park, main entrance at Southwest Oak Street and Naito Parkway, oregonbrewfest.com. July 24: Tour de Coops

Growing Gardens, a local nonprofit that promotes organic home gardening, sponsors this self-guided tour of East Portland chicken coops. Owners open their backyards and share tips and tricks of urban chickenkeeping with visitors. Many coops are "clustered" to make biking or walking the tour easy, and visitors are provided with a booklet of coop addresses, maps and suggested routes (sharing is encouraged). Be sure to enter the raffle to win a coop, chicken feed or nursery gift certificate. July 31-Aug. 1: Bones and Brew

This year, Rogue Ale's Bones and Brew is a celebration of the American backyard barbecue, and features a barbecue contest, vendors, more than 30 microbrews and a host of dog- and kid-friendly events. All proceeds benefit the Oregon Zoo. Aug. 6-8: Bite of Oregon

Take a bite, drink and earful of Oregon eateries. This annual celebration of Oregon's bounty features wineries, chefs and restaurants, and aims to celebrate the unique culture of the state. Tom McCall Waterfront Park between Southwest Harrison and West Burnside streets, biteoforegon.com. 11 am–10 pm Friday and Saturday, 10 am–8 pm Sunday. Ticket cost TBA (last year it was $8), children under 12 free. All proceeds benefit the Special Olympics of Oregon.

Aug. 7: Brunch on the Bridge

The PDX Bridge Festival will close down the center lanes of the Hawthorne Bridge, carpet them in fresh turf and host an on-the-grass brunch for the lucky 2,000 attendees who win tickets in an online lottery. You can enter by buying a PDX Bridge Festival bumper sticker ($4) from the fest's website, pdxbridgefestival.org/festival/brunch). Hawthorne Bridge. 10 am-1 pm Saturday. Seats must be won.

Aug. 14: Best of Oregon Food and Wine Festival

More than 15 culinary artisans (restaurateurs, chocolatiers, bottlers) and more than 25 wineries have joined forces to promote the local food economy at this locavore fest. A portion of overall proceeds, the money from an opening charity golf tournament and the entirety of door-prize ticket sales will be donated to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Aug. 26-28: Festa Italiana Portland
