Workaday breakfast basics (the MaryAnn, a bacon-egg-cheddar sandwich, $6) with a few veggie-friendly twists (vegan corncakes, $4-$5) come to roost at this sister location of a Southeast Hawthorne fave, which has a similar menu. (Unfortunately, the C&S shares the curse of many vegan-friendly breakfast joints: dry toast.) Lunch and dinner offerings ramble from grilled-veggie sandwiches to burgers to a few chipotle-and-prawn items and sweet-potato fries, just to keep things above standard diner fare. (MS)
