Have one of those all-the-rage farm dinners without actually mucking out to the farm (though hay bales and manure might be easier to wade through than all the recent construction in this part of the Pearl District). Rainbow-colored salads and other ultra-seasonal specials make up an affordable lunch-and-dinner menu of fresh-from-the-ground goodies for folks who don't have their own gardens to harvest. The Daily's prix fixe Sunday brunch is a special-occasion must: a basket of pastries, an "appetizer" (a late-summer favorite included blackberries with cardamom shortcake), and a heartier dish such as salmon hash.
