Cheap Eats 2005

No lamp-rubbing required at Genies, for the magic of this Southeast Division Street diner is in the food. Dig into the Florentine omelette ($7.25), infused with spinach, mushrooms and feta. Forget about the need to order other sides or nip from the full bar, because after eating the toasted Italian bread and roasted potatoes, enhanced by a dash of simple seasoning, you'll only wish the restaurant provided guests with a magic-carpet ride home. And, in a metaphysical sense, it does. (BV)
