Drink 2010

With 15 well-selected taps, Roscoe's is a diamond in the rough for beer drinkers, and only beer drinkers. When asked, "What's your house specialty?" the bartender confusedly replied, "Do you mean which beer is the best?" Hidden in the outer-Southeast enclave of 82nd and Stark, Roscoe's has all of a bar's essentials: a quick and friendly bartender; clean, well-lit pool tables; and a swarm of patrons who genuinely love being there. Roscoe's stocks local and regional microbrews while being completely unpretentious about it—a rare feat in a town where everyone claims to be some degree of beer aficionado.
What to drink: Stick to the beer.
Happy hour: Cheap food, 50 cents off drinks; 4-7 pm daily.
Entertainment: Pool, jukebox, friendly neighborhood people.
