Some dive bars are moose-on-the wall kind of places. The Know is a Skeksis-on-the-wall kind of place. The full-size, fully feathered replica of Jim Henson's dragon-bird creation from The Dark Crystal looks out on a bar that is equally dilapidated and squalid. Well-worn booths line up behind a dusty bar counter. Unframed acrylic art is posted to the walls. Around the corner is a small room with a stage where, on a good night, local bands play to local fans, usually for free, and everyone drinks cheap beer—even the Skeksis.
What to drink: Hamm's tallboy, $2.
Happy hour: $1 PBR, $2.50 well drinks; 4-7 pm daily.
Entertainment: Pinball, jukebox, live music.
