Cheap Eats 2009

I've restrained myself from stealing the Frank Zappa-inspired art at each location of this local chain, but I cannot keep myself from eating the food. The signature burritos are not only herbivore- and carnivore-friendly, but delicious. Draught beer, a daily-special burrito and the standard offering of burritos, salads and bowls are both light on the wallet and filling. Laughing Planet also shows a healthy sense of humor, with menu-item names like Thai Me Up ($5.25), Che Guevara ($4.95) and the Soylent Green bowl ($7.25). (SJ)
