Cheap Eats 2009

This unassuming lunch spot at the corner of Southwest 4th Avenue and Washington Street will have your food ready for you before your back is turned—literally. The portions are huge, as are the light, chewy pitas (50 cents), which have more in common with naan than the cardboardy stuff we're used to nibbling at cocktail parties. While there might be a little less meat in your plate of chicken shawarma ($7) than you would expect, be honest—you would never finish everything anyway.
