No fern bar, this Hollywood institution oozes the wet charms of the only place darker and rainier than Portland in December—the British Isles. Seemingly every patron in this pub is smoking while they choose from the wide, wide selection of tasty beers: 16 British-style ales (ranging from $3.75 for a 12-ounce Adnams Broadside Ale to $7.25 for a 16.9-ounce Waterloo ale) or seven Trappist ales (from $6 for 11.2 ounces of Westmalle Dubble to $12 for 25.4 ounces of Chimay Grande Reserve). Definitely the place to go when a choice of only five Trappist ales won't suffice.
Perfect Patron: Cigarette-clutching thirty- and fortysomethings in jeans that fit better when they were twentysomethings.
