The closest thing Southeast Powell Boulevard has produced to a Las Vegas-style strip club, Safari is an establishment that celebrates the consumption of flesh—whether it be the occasionally titillating eye candy gyrating onstage or, more literally, the feeding of the dozens of flesh-eating piranhas swimming in aquariums throughout the joint. Just watch what happens when you give them some goldfish. For some people, I guess there's a kind of endearing, wholehearted political incorrectness about a slick, expensive African safari-themed titty bar with tribal garb hanging on the walls, ratty leopard-print carpet and food like "Zulu Wings" on the menu. Still, I prefer my strip clubs more bareboned and, most importantly, themeless.
