Drink 2008

White Eagle’s menu and beer selection are standard McMenamins fare, but the historic hotel/bordello’s creaky floors, lofty ceilings and rumored ghosts lend a spooky charm. Nightly live music—everything from punk pop to acoustic crooners—and cheeky bartenders keep it in the now, and WE has a great happy hour. The place, originally opened in 1905, even offers hotel rooms—just don’t be surprised if you wake up in the middle of a spectral gummer from a ghostly lady of the night.
Perfect Patron: Portland lushes, living and deceased. (APK)
HAPPY HOUR 4-6 PM DAILY, 10 PM-MIDNIGHT MON-THURS: $9.25 PITCHERS, $3.95 BURGERS.
