Drink 2010

This is what drinking in Boston must be like: a Catholic church across the street promising future forgiveness for tipsy transgressions, and a nearby daycare center cautioning against making a huge tiny mistake. Nepo 42 itself is catholic in the secular sense, with a take-all-comers hodgepodge of craft beers, rotating taps, cheap cans, big burgers, barbecue platters and Blazers game specials (25-cent wings, $1.50 Old Germans). The downside of such inclusiveness is a bland interior that is more "bar" than bar, but this burnished quality also means almost anyone will feel at home here.
What to drink: Anything not called Pub Punch ($6). The menu says "it's a secret," which is code for "pink Mountain Dew that will have you regaling lamp posts by midnight."
Happy hour: $3.50 drafts, $3 wells, $1 Old Germans; 4-7 pm Monday-Friday.
Entertainment: Pool, trivia, Blazers games.
