[VIETNAMESE] It's not the most well-stocked Asian grocer in town, but cramped, dingy Vieng Lao's got location—a few blocks west of PCC's Cascade campus—on its side. It's one of the only places to find Vietnamese, Hawaiian and Cambodian foodstuffs and spices, not to mention a massive selection of An Xuyên baked goods, crazy rice candies and canned quail eggs, without committing to a bus ride to the 'burbs. This is where the North Interstate New Seasons sends shoppers when they come up short in the lime-leaf, taro-root and green-papaya department.
Grocery list: Fresh galangal root, frozen fish balls, 10-pound bag of sticky rice, huge steam pot ($18).
