For a bar, Mother Maybel's has versatility and charm. It dubs itself a martini bar, but the cushy space serves up more than just a fine lemon drop. The Pirate Moscow (dark rum, lime, sugar and Cock 'N Bull ginger beer) is a refreshing sipper, and its companion drink, the Dark and Stormy, packs a solid punch that will take you from sober to buzzed in a hot minute. While the servers may be inattentive, the drinks are worth the wait.
What to drink: Pirate Moscow.
Happy hour: $3.50 draft pints, $4 well drinks and wine, $2 off cocktails; 4-6 pm Monday-Thursday, 2-6 pm Friday-Sunday, 11 pm-midnight Tuesday-Saturday.
Entertainment: Live music on the weekends; trivia on Tuesday nights.
