Cheap Eats 2010

The new baby of Pok Pok, the tremendously popular restaurant across the street, Whiskey Soda Lounge serves tapas Thai-style. Small plates and low prices make it easy to experiment with such delicacies as succulent frog legs ($7.50), juicy tempura chicken gizzards ($6) and fried dried beef ($5.50) that tastes the way all jerky should. Timid tongues should be wary of the spice, especially on the incendiary bamboo-shoot salad ($7). But luckily, the candlelit bar boasts a stellar cocktail menu to cool the mouth.
