This member of the Mississippi Marketplace defines its cuisine—which is all vegan and organic, mostly local and gluten-free—through more of a nutri-political stance than a specific geographical origin. Curries drawing from Thai and Ethiopian inspiration, pancakes made with South American grain but served with maple syrup, home fries with curry spices, tofu scrambles and sandwiches are just some of the widely varying menu items. The hours change once in a while, so make sure to check before heading over.

BEST BITE: “The Abbot,” handmade curried tempeh with Vegenaise on Dave’s Killer Bread, $4.50.

CHEAPEST BITE: House fries, $2.50.
