Drink 2010

Jinx feels most like a place you'd cruise into after a day on the links in Palm Springs, circa 1979. The bar's high, glassy shelving gleams clean against the hip but comfortable furniture and the eclectic artwork. The extensive drink menu is a can't-miss. So gab and linger with your quirky concoction, but don't neglect the food. Share a baked Brie plate with crostini, apple slices and whole roasted garlic cloves ($7); the spinach salad with pear, blue cheese and bacon ($7) is an excellent complement.
What to drink: Na-Nu Na-Nu—gin, pear purèe, triple sec and lime juice, $7.50.
Happy hour: $3 drafts, $3 appetizers, $4 well drinks; 3-7 pm daily.
Entertainment: Bartender doubling as DJ, intimate conversation.
