The knee-jerk response to Sarah Palin: You Betcha!
is that the Barracuda from Wasilla has gotten a documentary she richly
deserves, though it might be just as true that wanting to make a Sarah
Palin documentary disqualifies you from doing so. Anyway, this petty
work from Nick Broomfield—a repulsively ingratiating Brit guttersnipe
slipping across Alaskan ice—feels a lot like hunting a wolf from a
helicopter. With its cheap shots, recycled gaffes and old scandals, it
is fitting in another way: It’s a movie for people who don’t read
magazines. Clinton Street Theater. 7 and 9 pm
