Are you wearing presentable streetwear?

Pants by Hypebeast, shirts by Hood By Air and Sumpreme, mesh by Hypebeast, shoes by Nike, hats by Supreme, beanie by SSUR.

From try-hard high-fashion haters to trust-fund hypebeast high-schoolers, the fuccbois are out there, and we're gonna help you find them. A fuccboi (pronounced like and originating from the words "fuck" and "boy") usually refers to someone wearing massively overpriced streetwear brands like Hood by Air, Pyrex, Yves Saint Laurent or Supreme but with no sense of style.

Like most elements of black culture, streetwear is now being appropriated by white people and watered down. The word "fuccboi" is a way to call this phenomenon out. Fuccbois have the money to purchase clothing they see A$AP Rocky and Odd Future wearing, but not the taste to develop a style of their own. In streetwear, people are always getting caught up on who has the most pairs of Publish joggers or what limited-edition sneakers you bought on eBay, but it's really just about looking good. Here's a guide to keeping yourself from being a fuccboi.

How low is the crotch on your joggers?

The levels of drop crotch are inversely related to how you are perceived on the fuccboi meter. The lower the crotch, the higher the level of fucc.

Still writing on hypebeast forums vs. lightly scanning Yohji Yamamoto's cover story in Highsnobiety.

When getting your tips on fashion information, just like in journalism you need to consider your sources. If you're still getting information from other fuccbois on hypebeast, how can you expect to stunt on the poseurs you encounter outside of the cyber world?

This HBA shirt vs. this Supreme shirt.

Although supporting brands is a huge part of streetwear, it takes a level of finesse not to turn yourself into a walking billboard. If someone can identify your brand of T-shirt from the top of the Empire State Building, you're doing it wrong. A classic sign of fuccboi material is a lack of subtlety when it comes to logos.

How much mesh are you wearing?

To your average consumer, really any amount of mesh is too much. However, if worn properly, low levels of mesh can be acceptable. Just know you're walking a thin line between luxury sportswear and try-hard mall swag.

How many pairs of Jordans has your mom bought you?

This is a trick question, as the only acceptable answer is "none." If you're wearing Jordans that were paid for by your mother, you are in fact a fuccboi.

 Are you still wearing 5-panels?

When the 5-panel hat was popularized by Supreme's camp in 2009 with the help of OFWGKTA, it was instantly fuccboi material. Kids from everywhere went online to buy outrageously priced hats. The market grew dramatically, and now everyone from Thrasher magazine to Target carries their own version. Only fuccbois still wear them.

How far does your beanie hang off your head?

In Portland, it's cold enough to consider winter headwear not just fashionable but also a utility. However, as the beanie slides farther and farther off the head, the utility fades into pure fuccery.
