Eat Mobile 2015 FAQs

So you've got your ticket. And you've got some questions. Here are a handful of common ones we hope are helpful. For any other inquires, please contact sbarnhart@wweek.com.

Q: Will Eat Mobile happen if incliment weather occurrs?
A: Yes. This is a rain or shine event.

Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: Yes. This is not a 21+ event. Kids are welcome, but must purchase a ticket; kids five and under are free.

Q: Where can I park?
A: The Division Street neighborhood is not exactly full of parking lots. With that in mind, be courteous to the neighbors as you use street parking, or be courteous to the earth as you walk, bike, car-pool, ride share, or take public transportation to the event.

Q: Is Eat Mobile wheel-chair accessible?
A: Yes, in the pods. But the bus transportations is not - we apologize for this inconveneince. You may take Tri Met's 4 line for accessible transportation between pods.

Q: How much food will I consume if I eat every sample?
A: If you eat approximately 25 samples around three oz. each, or 75 oz. of food, this is equivalent to 4.7 pounds of food per guest.

Q: Doesn't this event cause a lot of waste?
A: Eat Mobile is a sustainable event, with 100% recyclable service ware and reusable sporks. We encourage you to use the utensils provided to you for as many samples as you are able to. Our bambu sporks are not, technically, compostable according to Portland Metro's composting system, so please respect the planet, lick those utensils clean, and use them for as many samples as you can.

Q: I have a company that would make a great Eat Mobile sponsor. Are there still spots?
A: For sponsorship or press inquiries, contact sbarnhart@wweek.com.

Q: Am I limited to one shuttle run, e.g., from my starting Pod to the other Pod?
A: You'll be able to take the shuttle to your second pod, and then back to your starting pod, and back again, if you so chose. It's a choose your own adventure system!

Q: How often will the shuttle run?
A: The shuttle will run approximately every 10 minutes, starting at 5:30 and going until 9:15.

Q: Approximately how long might one shuttle run take?
A: It will take between 5 and 10 minutes between pods, assuming traffic is cooperative. The pods are only 22 blocks apart from each other on SE Division Street, so it's a quick hop, though remember that you are in a large charter bus, which takes a bit longer to maneuver from A to B.
