What's the best memory you have of Musicfests past?

"Definitely watching the 151-drenched live wrestling show at a now-extinct eastside venue in 1997 with a few of the Dandies, and then racing across town to have Floater cancel." —Eric Tonsfeldt of Amadan

"Future Spark tells me it will be this year opening up with Sandpeople for Aesop Rock at the Roseland Sept. 6." —DJ Spark of Sandpeople

"Never been to a Musicfest before...sorry." —Ryan Sollee of the Builders and the Butchers

"Hmm...that may involve some naughty business in the green room of Dante's." —Kaitlyn ni Donovan

"Shit, I don't know." —Scott McCaughey of the Minus 5

"Taking a cab home with a box full of Voodoo doughnuts and sharing them with my cab driver." —Rob Wynia of Floater

What are the top three bands/artists you must see at MusicfestNW this year?

"Horse Feathers, Laura Gibson, LKN: They are some of the best bands in Portland—it's been great to see them get their propers!" —Ryan Sollee of the Builders and the Butchers

"I want to see Helio Sequence and Lifesavas, because we're always working on the same nights and I've never gotten to see them. I want to see the Thermals because I hear good things, and it really seems like they've been working hard recently." —Eric Tonsfeldt of Amadan

"Spoon...because I just don't miss one of their shows. Friday night at the Towne Lounge...because it's just that good. Leigh Marble...because he's playing the slot right before me. But I am looking forward to it!" —Lael Alderman

"I can wait to see Clockwerk, Debaser and Bad Neighbors with the One and Only take form as mega-group Sandpeople live onstage...respecognize [sic]!" —DJ Spark of Sandpeople

"Roky Erickson: Holy hell! Rock 'n' roll One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest with a happy ending! Drakes Hotel: They are the High Violets' new label mates who just moved from Nebraska. This will be their debut show here. The Obituaries: They were the first band I saw when I moved to Portland. I had never seen a woman hock a loogie onstage. She can sing like she's opening the gates of hell, then demurely purr some kittens to sleep." —Kaitlyn ni Donovan

"Roky Erickson & the Explosives, the Texas garage-psych pioneer whose comeback from mental illness is as much a miracle as his soul-chilling voice. Patterson Hood/Richmond Fontaine (same show)—fantastic songwriting, fantastic people. Eugene Mirman—he's my friend and he's fucking funny." —Scott McCaughey of the Minus 5

"Sky Cries Mary, Adrian Orange, Helio Sequence. Why? For inspiration, and because they rule. There are so many good bands at the festival this year, it's really hard to pick just three." —Rob Wynia of Floater

What would you be doing this weekend if you weren't playing MusicfestNW?

"Wondering where it all went wrong." —Ryan Sollee of the Builders and the Butchers

"Playing somewhere else." —Eric Tonsfeldt of Amadan

"Watching Spoon Thursday night, closing down the Towne Lounge on Friday night, dragging my sorry ass all over town on Saturday night. Wait, I think that's what I'll be doing anyway." —Lael Alderman

"Wondering if I should start Michael Vick or Roy Jones Jr. on my fantasy dogfighting team." —DJ Spark of Sandpeople

"Recording my embarrassingly overdue solo album for Hush Records." —Kaitlyn ni Donovan

"Going to see the bands at MusicfestNW and wishing I was playing it. The truth can be cheesy sometimes." —Rob Wynia of Floater

I'd rather _____ than miss playing MusicfestNW this year.

"Play Guitar Hero?!" —Ryan Sollee of the Builders and the Butchers

"Have digestive complications on a transatlantic flight." —Eric Tonsfeldt of Amadan

"I'd rather be watching one of the bands I'm playing opposite of, I guess, than miss playing MusicfestNW this year." —Lael Alderman

"I'd rather drink from the wrong end of the Willamette than miss playing MusicfestNW this year." —Kaitlyn ni Donovan

"I'd rather DRINK A COORS LIGHT than miss playing MusicfestNW this year." —Scott McCaughey of the Minus 5

"Go Christmas shopping...twice." —Rob Wynia of Floater

If you could change anything about MusicfestNW what would it be?

"End the entire festival with a band vs. band organic wrestling match downtown and the winners deemed kings of MusicfestNW!!! Wait a minute...is Stovokor playing!!??" —Ryan Sollee of the Builders and the Butchers

"I can't answer that accurately from the standpoint of a repeat performer. Thus far, much props on coordinating load-in times, publicizing the events/times/cover charges, and being in touch. From a consumer's standpoint, more advertising might be useful?" —Eric Tonsfeldt of Amadan

"I think we pretty much took care of this issue when the Weekly [Willamette Week] took the festival back from the SXSW folks, right?" —Lael Alderman

"I would change the name to MusicfestNW sponsored by sandpeoplemusic.com new album HONEST RACKET OCT 6th!!! bung...." —DJ Spark of Sandpeople

"Figure out a way that poor folk could get in, and next year, give the money to Community Music Center through Parks and Recreation. Through sustained fundraising they provide affordable amazing music programs for toddlers up to octogenarians." —Kaitlyn ni Donovan

"Free ice cream! What? There is? Oh. OK then, more mariachi music." —Rob Wynia of Floater
