Where did the " night cabbie"go? Did he or she run out of gas?

Believe it or not, there have been 3 "Night Cabbies" over the years. All have moved on from their jobs as hacks. Our most recent cabbie stopped driving earlier this year and so did his column.

Let me get this straight. You, as editor, allowed your paper to devote space to a sympathetic portrait of a woman who spends thousands of dollars a year on her incontinent, wheel-chair bound dog??? It's a dog, for chrissakes. Just what kind of news judgement do you have?

I've only lived in Portland for about a year and read a new column in The Oregonian last week that made me wonder about your newspaper's integrity. The column was about a dude who worked for you named Phil Busse who appears to be a thief, a liar, and(according to a friend of mine who has lived in this town longer) a plagiarist. What does this say about WW that you employed such a creep?

You are mistaken. Phil Busse was the news editor for the Portland Mercury. The Oregonian column did not specify who he had worked for.
