Another blow for the withering campaign to rename Interstate Avenue after César Chávez.
The Kenton Neighborhood Association, which
drew fire when it wrote a letter of support for the name change without getting any actual neighborhood input, has decided to
take it all back.
In a letter to Mayor Tom Potter dated today, Oct. 11, association chairperson Aaron Gray says the board “
may have erred procedurally” when it offered its support for the change “without having sought adequate member input.”
According to the letter, the board has decided to withdraw its support and replace it with a “
no position” stance.
