GOP gubernatorial candidate
Chris Dudley continues to pick up big checks from prominent locals.
This week, Dudley reported a $20,000 contribution from investor Peter Brix and $5,000 from real estate maven
Barbara Sue Seal. The most notable check collected by Dudley's Democratic opponent, former two-term Gov.
John Kitzhaber, was a $10,000 contribution from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 48.
In another closely watched race, the battle for Metro Council President, former Hillsboro Mayor
Tom Hughes (below in the photo-shopped image that graced our April 28 cover) reported $10,000 from IBEW Local 48 and $5,000 from the Portland Business Alliance.
Hughes now has about $47,000 on hand. Meantime, the coffers are empty so far for Hughes' general election opponent,
Bob Stacey — the former executive director of 1000 Friends of Oregon.
