Vintage clothing company
Yo Vintage! is having a week-long pop-up shop at 220 Salon. RT stopped by the opening party and presale to check it out.
Owner
Sarah Radcliffe just moved to Portland from London, and the pop-up shop is her collection. “It's all about sequins, bright colors and jumpsuits,” Radcliffe said.
The collection is more than just jumpsuits, though—Radcliffe's picks include some adorable ‘90s style floral dresses, a perfectly worn-in denim jacket, and light plaid shirts that would pair perfectly with summer shorts.
“In London everyone's always trying to follow the latest trend,” Radcliffe said. “But in Portland, you can wear whatever you want, wherever you want, and be fashionable in a sneaky way.”
Even though Portlanders love to shop for vintage, Radcliffe said her collection is different from other vintage stores in Portland because she's so selective.
“I love
House of Vintage, but sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming if you're just looking for one thing,” she said. Radcliffe's collection is very carefully selected—it's as if she has already done the digging and searching that is normally required at large vintage stores, surfacing with the best and most wearable pieces. And she has good taste.
At affordable prices and a trendy location—220 Salon's adjacent photo studio is light and airy, with tall windows that open and exposed brick—it's definitely worth popping ‘round.
