Yes, it is counterintuitive to buy more clothes (and accessories and shoes…etc.) when it's this blazing outside (and all you wanna do is take it all off) but, as it seems, summer is also key for major sales. So take advantage of several heavy-hitting boutiques who are taking time out this weekend to purge their inventory for your buying pleasure.
If you are up in Northwest Portland, starting tomorrow through Sunday, Nob Hill (on 23rd and 21st avenues) will be making the markdown rounds and having a sidewalk sale. You can save at boutiques like Elizabeth Street, Zelda's Shoe Bar, The Bee and the Thistle, and Blush Beauty Bar. (See nobhillbiz for more info.) In the Pearl, Nolita's (923 NW 10th Ave., 274-7114) got a host of red tags going on now 'til the end of July. Up to 60% off of men's and women's styles and denim. And the glorious Le Train Bleu (748 NW 11th Ave., 222-2958) is having their "fifty is nifty sale" (as in 50 percent off) to make room for Fall styles. This would be the place to splurge. On the Eastside, Mimi and Lena (1914 NE Broadway, 224-7736) are slashing prices on all spring and summer merch this Saturday, July 14th. High-end designs by the likes of Diane Von Furstenberg, Rebecca Taylor and Chan Luu included. If you're looking for an all-out sale part-ay—head over to Mississippi Avenue on Saturday as well. The streets will be closed between Fremont and Skidmore for their 6th annual street fair.

Amalee Boutique (909 N Beech St., Suite A) will be offering discounts and a double-deal of mango mimosas. If you're weekend is already slammed, but you have some downtime on say, a Tuesday, Moxie (2400 E Burnside, 29-MOXIE, moxiepdx.com) will be offering 15 percent off jeans every 2nd day of the work week throughout the month of July. (Better hurry, ya only got three more.) And don't say we didn't warn you.
