Portland Joins in Worldwide Protest Against BP

BP Protest

If spending this Saturday morning watching the World Cup or buying overpriced souvenirs and waving your way through the Rose Parade isn't on your to-do list, head over to Holladay Park to join Portland's effort in Worldwide Protest BP day.

Organized entirely through Facebook, June 12 is designated by the event's creators as primetime for a worldwide boycott against the company responsible for the worst-ever oil leak in the United States.

The online page boasts more than 40 cities across five continents participating in the protest. Portland's end of the protest runs from 10 am to noon in Holladay Park on NE 11th Avenue and Holladay Street.
