Oregon Football: Jeremiah Masoli Gone

Not that Oregon Ducks fans were expecting anything from Jeremiah Masoli in the 2011 season if the suspended quarterback returned after he served his one-year football penance (though a fellow Ducks fanatic had me more than half-convinced last weekend that Masoli would be unbelievable as a running back in an option package).

But today's news that Masoli's latest screw-up has ended his Ducks career for good certainly surprised me for the sheer audacity of how soon it happened after his earlier burglary bust.

Of course, the more ominous news for the football-obsessed is that quarterback Darron Thomas was in the car with Masoli during this latest escapade. Thomas reportedly faces no charges, but it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence going into the 2010 season that the quarterback position is between Thomas and the oft-injured Nate Costa.
