No Blood for Oil—Oil for Protests!

Not enough local avenues for political griping? Well, don't despair, Democrats. The Citizen's Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney is coming to Olympia, Wash. on February 20.

For those activists with too much time/gasoline on their hands, the trip north to the Olympia's Washington Center for the Performing Arts (512 Washington Street SE), should be no problem.

The free event, dubbed “The Constitution in Crisis: The Case for America” will begin at 7 pm. Three speakers will fan your flames. Elizabeth de la Vega is a former federal prosecutor. David Lindorff is an award-winning investigative reporter. Ray McGovern is a 27-year veteran of the CIA.

The Citizens' Movement to Impeach Bush/Cheney has been around since last July. Within three months they had gathered over 2,000 signatures calling for impeachment (what, are these hard to come by?).

The group focuses on four impeachable offenses: using fraudulent evidence to go to Iraq; crapping all over civil liberties and torturing prisoners; illegal wiretapping; and “refusing to obey more than 700 laws by using signing statements.”

Questions about the pep rally can be directed to Gail Johnson, 360-786-1246.
